This role, reporting to the Of Counsel - Pro Bono, offers a unique opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to contribute meaningfully to advancing access to justice through the delivery of high-impact pro bono legal services. Working closely with the Pro Bono Of Counsel, the Associate will help shape and implement strategic initiatives that support individuals and communities in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Helping to coordinate and deliver existing pro bono projects, including assisting with administration of existing pro bono projects
- Evaluate incoming pro bono requests, triage based on complexity, and match with appropriate fee earners or escalate as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for internal pro bono queries, promote engagement across practice groups, and support onboarding of colleagues,
- Manage a personal caseload of pro bono matters, including legal research, drafting, and client advisory work.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of pro bono policies and management systems.
- Assisting with monitoring and evaluation of pro bono projects.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of project data to assess impact, identify trends.
- Represent the firm at pro bono sector events, maintain relationships with partner organisations, and contribute to collaborative initiatives with other law firms.
The Successful Candidate
- Qualified to practice law in Ireland, NQ to 1 PQE.
- Excellent organisational and management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively.
- Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively in teams, take initiative, and operate independently when required.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality legal work with strong attention to detail.
- A clear understanding of the legal needs of disadvantaged individuals and the organisations that support them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
