We are recruiting for a Pro Bono and Community Investment Manager or Advisor to support with the execution of the firm's pro bono, community investment, fundraising partnerships activities and engagement on internal sustainability efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.

Byron Phillips, Yasmin Waljee and Marion Palmer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with sourcing and coordination of pro bono matters for APAC, including identifying and developing new partnership opportunities in all jurisdictions
  • Where relevant, supporting with regional pro bono research tasks and coordination;
  • Supporting conflicts checks and related due-diligence activities
  • Support with reporting and data analytics/insights for regional champions and leadership updates helping to drive up-take
  • Helping to draft Responsible Business and Sustainability – related submissions, and communications
  • Liaising with external networks and contacts to avail of firm profile-raising opportunities
  • Working with global HL BaSE team to help oversee our social impact offering across the APAC region
  • Working with global teams to respond to client requests and RFPs concerning Sustainability and Responsible Business
  • Driving the APAC region’s Sustainability strategy from a People Engagement perspective and working with regional stakeholders to implement and make progress towards our firm’s sustainability commitments and ESG aspirations
  • Supporting with event and activity coordination

The Successful Candidate

  • A postgraduate or undergraduate degree in law essential
  • Working experience in a professional services or corporate environment
  • High level of organizational and project management skills. An organised and thorough approach to work with excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to translate global principles and initiatives into the APAC context.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks to deadlines
  • Demonstrated research skills and experience with data collection and analysis
  • Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work across teams and cultures both in-person, in hybrid format and virtually
  • Working efficiency in MS Office such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of, or a passion for ESG matters and helping to translate these in a corporate environment
  • Ability to work flexibly particularly, with regard to collaboration with the global team based in different time zones.
