This is a 12-month full-time, fixed term contract role within our Pro Bono team.

As a member of the team, you will work with people and organisations on a broad range of access to justice matters. Your work will include litigation across multiple jurisdictions as well as non-litigious work such as governance for not-for-profit organisations, law reform and community legal education.

The role is based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week, depending on the needs of the team. The team’s in-office days are Tuesday and Thursday.

The successful candidate will be a high-performing lawyer with demonstrated capacity to provide quality legal services across a range of areas and contribute to law reform, advocacy and legal education. In addition, you will have:

• Two to five years’ post-qualification experience in legal practice
• Experience or demonstrated capacity to undertake access to justice work, including litigation and work for not-for-profit organisations
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload across multiple areas of law
• Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills
• The ability to work effectively with clients from a range of backgrounds
• The ability to build relationships that help us understand our clients’ legal needs
• The ability to work both autonomously and in a team

You will also need to be prepared to travel interstate and to regional, rural and remote areas as required.
