As a key liaison between Fenwick attorneys, clients, and legal service organizations, you will help manage and grow our robust portfolio of client-facing pro bono initiatives. This includes coordinating more than 50 virtual and in-person clinics annually and ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will also track volunteer engagement, manage communications, and contribute to the overall impact of Fenwick’s community engagement efforts.

This role may be based in any of our U.S. offices—excluding Santa Monica—with a strong preference for New York, Silicon Valley, or San Francisco. This position offers a hybrid schedule and requires three days onsite per week at your designated office with the possibility of additional required in-office days depending on business and client needs. Occasional travel (to clinics) is required. This is a full-time exempt position.

Key responsibilities

Clinic Program Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of 50+ pro bono clinics per year, including virtual and in-person events across multiple offices.
  • Serve as the main logistical point of contact for internal teams, client partners, legal services organizations, and interpreters.
  • Draft internal and external communications related to upcoming clinics and volunteer opportunities.
  • Manage staffing, calendar coordination, and post-clinic follow-up, including the delivery of legal materials and survey data to partners.
  • Ensure continuing legal education (CLE) compliance by working with MCLE and compliance teams on accreditation and documentation.
  • Assist with immigration forms and filings.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with legal service organizations and nonprofit partners.
  • Help identify new clinic or pro bono opportunities and maintain ongoing collaborations with current partners.
  • Support the engagement of Fenwick attorneys, paralegals, and corporate volunteers in meaningful pro bono work.

Data, Metrics & Reporting

  • Track pro bono participation and progress toward the firm’s 20-hour pro bono goal.
  • Maintain and update databases to ensure accurate records of casework, hours, outcomes, and volunteer involvement.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports on clinic activities and pro bono metrics for internal and external audiences.

Marketing & Social Media Support

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create and post content about the pro bono program and clinic events.
  • Capture photos and stories from events, and ensure all necessary permissions and releases are secured.

Resource & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain internal databases of legal resource guides, templates, and training materials for clinic use.
  • Support the development of toolkits and volunteer onboarding materials for common clinic matters, such as asylum, U-Visa, and nonprofit formation.

Additional Support

  • Perform other tasks assigned to support the firm’s pro bono and community engagement programs.

The Successful Candidate

  • Organizational & Time Management Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate needs, manage case flow, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct interviews, liaise with clients, legal service organizations, and internal teams in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite, Smartsheet, and various legal programs. Familiarity with case management software and other legal technology is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing legal documents, tracking case progress, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and external partners while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Language Proficiency: Spanish speaking a plus (for clinic interpretations, along with other relatable tasks).

Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Social Responsibility/Pro Bono Counsel, the ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm or legal services setting preferred).
