Key Responsibilities
- Assists staff attorneys and managing attorneys in preparing for legal clinics and resource centers.
- Provides legal research and legal analysis on issues that may include housing law, family law, probate, public benefits, small business law, and/or consumer law.
- Reviews documents providing legal information for accuracy and advises Pro Bono Center attorneys on necessary changes to any such documents.
- Updates and drafts new materials for self-represented litigants and responds to and maintains records of requests for materials or information.
- Refers appropriate matters to the Pro Bono Center’s Advocacy & Justice Clinic as well as other area legal services providers.
- Helps to identify emerging issues and develops recommendations for service models.
- Assists in preparing community outreach and legal education materials for prospective clients and community members.
- Drafts forms, pleadings, reports, correspondence, notices, and other documents for attorney review.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

The Successful Candidate
- Fellows must be graduates of an ABA accredited law school
- Interns must be enrolled in a full-time or part time ABA accredited law school program.
- Demonstrated interest in public interest law.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong writing skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with clients, the public, Bar members, volunteers, and staff.
- Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and able to manage several priorities in a day.
- Must be detail oriented and deadline driven.
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Ability to attend in-person meetings and events as needed.
